Goose Roundup & Management

Got Geese? Resident populations of Canada Geese are wonderful to look at and admire, but they can also be a nuisance. Lake owners that have a handful or more of geese know what kind of a mess they leave behind. This mess creates an eyesore, litters the lawn and sidewalk with slick land mines, and contains many diseases. Goose droppings also lead to excessive aquatic weed and algae growth in lakes. During the nesting season, geese vigorously defend their eggs and young, creating the potential fro human-goose conflicts.
A solution that is gaining in popularity is roundup and removal services. Once site-specific permits have been authorized from the appropriate local state agency, geese are gently rounded up, placed into large cages and removed from the site. All Canada Geese captured in Kansas are relocated to the other end of the state, per Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks rules. Only juvenile geese are relocated in Missouri, adults are taken away for good, per Missouri Department of Conservation rules. We can set up and then be out with the birds in a matter of a couple of hours. Instant removal of problem geese!
We also conduct approved population control methods, such as egg oiling. Keep in mind that Canada Geese are a federally protected bird. Permits are required to deal with them. However, this species is quite abundant and isn’t on any threatened or endangered species lists. On the contrary, the numbers of geese are so high that states are encouraged to have plans in place to handle steadily increasing numbers of nuisance Canada Goose populations.
